IEFC (Be) Institut Européen de Formation Continue pour les travailleurs du secteur social tertiaire  

IEFC (Be) European Institute for Continuous Training for Social Workers of the tertiary sector The corporate purpose of IEFC is to organize a network of institutions of the social service sector on a European scale, with a view to achieving democratic and social Europe through the development of tools, education and training resources for the training of actors, paid or unpaid workers in the social sector focusing on preventing and fighting against violence to improve the well-being of all.



IEFC also aims at providing support, a tool for dissemination and wider European penetration to sustain scientific and financial investment, personal involvement of many multidisciplinary teams that generate added value in terms of training modules, products resulting from following projects: Leonardo Joconda nr B/00/B/F/PP-110.023 violence and sexual abuse within the family, Daphne, JOCASTE nr. 01-079 / C Violence towards women, violence towards disabled people, potential violence by professionals, institutional violence, BALTIMEDIA nr JAI/DAP/2004-2/030/YC preventing violence on the workplace, spread to other languages STOP IT nr JLS/DAP/2005-2/049WYC spread to do other languages, and POLYPHEME JLS/DAP/2005-2/041 nr domestic violence related to alcohol problems.

A.I.G.S (be) Association Interrégionale de Guidance et de Santé

The aim of the AIGS is to develop, to manage, and work out research concerning guidance, assistance and infant psychiatric treatments. It also stands in for vocational and social rehabilitation of mental disabled people, as well as for scientific research concerning all mental health problems related to children and young people, guidance of children, young people and adults.

AIGS organizes many activities in the area of health care, assistance to disabled people, early care, functional and psychological rehabilitation services, day care and sheltered accommodation, assistance to youth under protection, psychological support, assistance to victims, aid program for abusers under constraint, addiction treatments and substitution programmes, family support, artistic creation, cultural development, social ecology, socio-professional integration, vocational and continued trainings

It has a 20 year experience of training trainers in the health sector, in vocational training, continuing education, and participation in European programmes like Interreg, Leonardo and Daphne both as coordinator and partner in the field of prevention and fight against violence towards women, domestic violence, sexual abuse towards children, towards disabled people, institutional violence, violence at school and violence in the workplace.

UniTS (It) - Università del Terzo Settore

UniTS  is an organization for Research and Training; non-profit private association. Set up in 1996 as an issue from an ANPAS project (one of the largest volunteer organizations in Italy with more than 1,200,000 members and 850 local associations) in collaboration with local authorities, public institutions and private companies

The goal is to strengthen the role and improve the efficiency of the non-profit sector in Italy by research and implementation of high quality trainings for operators of the non-profit sector (managers and workers) and people at risk of social exclusion.

Units has an extensive experience in managing European projects in the areas of equal opportunities, domestic violence, violence and sexual harassment towards women, sexual abuse against children, pedophilia, the social exclusion of women.

SIF-EIF (Lt), Social Innovation Fund – European innovation fund

SIF  is a nongovernmental organization founded in 1994 to help women, unemployed and economically disadvantaged, to make positive changes in their lives through training, welfare, information and advice. It currently specializes in education and training of adults at risk.

SIF & EIF are engaged as consultants to the Interdepartmental Committee for the implementation of the programme on gender equality in Lithuania and are actively engaged in educating the general public in the implementation of the Law on Equal Opportunities.

SIF is the founder and coordinator of the informal coalition of NGOs in Lithuania for the rights of women and brings together over 60 NGOs (www.women-coalition.webinfo.lt). SIF-EIF also defend the rights of women internationally involved in the drafting of alternative reports (NGOs) for two UN conventions - - CEDAW (Convention on the supression of all forms of discrimination against women) and CESCR (Convention on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights).

PRO MENTE (At), Pro Mente Ober Österreich

PRO MENTE  Is a private non-governmental organization located in the region Ober Osterreich whose missions are taking place in the area of psychosocial rehabilitation for young people and adults, socio-professional psychological guidance, day care, sheltered housing, occupational activities, health care, youth welfare, addiction treatments, home care, prevention and crisis intervention.

With over 1,300 workers, Pro Mente Ober Österreich is the largest member of Pro Mente Austria. This organization has 15 member organizations, 48 independent workers and nearly 500 volunteers. It is part of different European networks the Mental Health Europe (MHE), EuroPsyRehabilitation and CEFEC.

It has also established a training centre for its staff in response to specific needs and also organizes conferences, information for general public or specialized audience.

FAT (Sp), Fundación Atención Temprana  

FAT is a nonprofit Foundation . It develops early care activities based on agreements with the Administration of the Regional Government of Aragon.

Its managing body, the « Patronato » is composed of representatives of three organizations: FEAPS-Aragón (Federation of Associations of Families of Persons with mental disabilities), Ramon Rey Ardid Foundation and the Children's University Hospital "Miguel Servet".

FAT has a management centre and six early care centres spread over the region of Aragon. Each centre is managed by a multidisciplinary team of at least 5 representatives

Savoir et Compétences Formations (Fr)

Savoir et Compétences Formations  is a centre of social engineering, for vocational inclusion and for making training balances and personal assessment.

The corporate purpose is to support any initiative that promotes social and professional inclusion of disabled and disadvantaged people.

The activities are managed by university officials, civic and economic administrators, and welcome over 1500 beneficiaries per year.

ŠENT (Si)

ŠENT  is a nonprofit NGO. It was created in 1993 to provide assistance and support to people with mental health problems, to their families, to professionals, practitioners and anyone wishing to have a better understanding of the reality of mental health.

The association's mission is to develop and implement programs for psychosocial rehabilitation of people with mental health problems in almost all the regions of Slovenia.

The network includes 7 SENT Communities of mental health centres in Slovenia and spread over 12 units.

AIPNE (Pt) - Associação para a Integração de Pessoas com Necessidades Especiais

AIPNE is an association founded in 2002 by a group of citizens in the region Alverca do Ribatejo, in order to meet the needs of young people with disabilities in the region.

Since then activities have been developed

  • In terms of assessing the support and implementation of programs of psychosocial support and professional customized user
  • In the area of vocational training in order to better integrate into the local community through the strengthening of skills depending on the reasons and potential candidates;
  • In the area of sheltered work for candidates having not the required achievements when assessing them for training for social and professional integration in the short term on the job market;
  • In the occupational sector for people with abilities too small to allow them to perform paid jobs but still should remain active to fulfill their psychosocial development for a better inclusion in society;
  • As a future project, the residential sector for users

MISTIA (Pl)

The Institute of Local Government and Administration of Malopolski (Milga) in Krakow is the regional centre of the Foundation for the Support toLocal Democracy (FSLD).

Since the beginning of its operations in 1991, MISTiA’s mission was to provide support to development and defence of democracy by supporting local governments, local government, local communities, civil organizations and businesses.

The Institute's activities are now developing in the following areas: training (social workers and others); consultancy and advisory services (ie preparation of local strategies for the solution of social problems), organizing regular forums (monthly meetings of representatives of local government, mayors, treasurers, officers responsible for education, social work, etc..) for exchanges of experience or training, conferences and information in the region of Malopolska.

EUROPLIROFORISSI (Gr)

Is a private organization that has been providing training for over 18 years and has extensive experience in the areas of traditional, remote, and distance training, continued and personalized training of young unemployed, disadvantaged people and employees of SMEs.

Europliroforissi was one of the first agencies to organize vocational distance training courses in Greece, specially aimed at disadvantaged people.

In its activities, it works closely with local governments, local NGOs and national bodies.

In its remote training activities, it has established close links with private companies, vocational organizations and other public and private agencies.

Tees, Esk & Wear Valleys NHS Trust (Uk)

The Trust currently employs nearly 5,000 workers who receive and welcome approximately 1.5 million people.

Its mission is to bring support and help to people with mental health problems, to help children and young people having a learning disability, to help and assist adults, including treatment under constraint of abusers, socio-professional inclusion of people with learning disabilities, therapies under constraints, assistance and psychological counseling, and alternative addiction treatments.

Huis voor de Zorg is a foundation under Dutch law set up to defend the rights of health care users in the province of Limburg. It counts about 40 employees and 2.000 volunteers all active in the boards of communities and other departments or local authorities.

EuroPsyRéhabilitation (Be)

European NGO established in May 1992 which objectives are to:


  • Develop the European inter-institutional exchange on psychosocial rehabilitation, vocational, economic reintegration into society
  • Conduct theoretical reflections on the link between psychopathology and socioeconomic structures taking into account the specificity of each country
  • Establish the right of persons with psychological disabilities (social law, civil law, economic law)
  • Take part in the harmonization of legislations in favour of the disabled persons and help with the harmonization of people’s status.
